Interface Design

OverviewServices & Samples

The control system interface is where the end user and a complex audiovisual system interact. An interface design can make a powerful and complicated audiovisual system easy and intuitive to operate.

For a Graphic User Interface (GUI) to be easy to use, it must be visually uncomplicated and well structured. Simplicity is paramount; if a system is user-friendly, attractive, and uncomplicated it is a perceived success. Our Graphic Designers consult studies of human interface design and the concepts of human factors to create a GUI that uses common visual metaphors and is both attractive, and easy to use.

Control Concepts, Inc. is serious about control system interface design for touchpanels and webpages. A client's reaction to an audiovisual system is based on their perception of the interface. For this reason, Control Concepts has been directly involved with the InfoComm International's Dashboard for Controls Committee. Behind the scenes may be the best system design ever... Doesn't your hard work deserve a great interface?

Services - For clients of Control Concepts programming services.
While the dealer, sales personnel, or consultant may choose the points of control as part of a system design and may dictate interface design elements, it is generally the responsibility of Control Concepts to create the interface design without external guidance. Control Concepts’ personnel are therefore responsible for creating the interface design based on hardware selection, system design, and functionality. Control Concepts is further committed to providing examples of the interface design prior to development of the interface or system programming. Interface design aesthetics, unless otherwise dictated, are based on the end users' corporate identity and utilize graphics from Control Concepts internal resource library. All Control Concepts' interface designs, unless otherwise requested, follow InfoComm International "Dashboard" guidelines.

Typical client resources used to brand an interface design…
• Website and brand identity
• Corporate or annual reports
• Marketing and sales documentation
• Company letterhead

At the minimum, the aesthetic elements of the client identity reflected in the interface design will include color scheme, logo usage, and potentially page layout. All interface designs take advantage of the clients' brand identity to instill a sense of familiarity and comfort with the technology.
